CAMERAS’MARKET SURVEY
During 2 weeks , I have made a market survey concerning the consumers’ habits for the use of camera. Nowdays, we have digital pictures taking with numerical cameras. This market is one of the most growing market in the world.
For evaluating the impact of the product on consumers, I choose a panel of 75 persons to answer to an electronic survey, via the website:www.surveymonkey.com.The panel is composed by people of different age category,without distinction of gender, purchasing power or other characteristics. In fact, the questionnaire was sent at random , with an answer rate of 15% (75 answers over 500 people) . The different topics of the survey like frequency of use, brand recognition for the product, , and life cycle of the product. Here are the results of analysis concerning the survey.
Camera holder
When we look at the graphic , we obsverve that 52% of our panel declared curently holding a camera for their personal use.It is the sign of the boom of the sale of camera in the world. Also, the large majority of our panel doesn’t plan to buy a camera for the next days.
...For how long?
The next step of our survey was trying to know how long consumers want to keep theirs camera, or whether they want to buy new ones. For more than 50% of our panel plans to afford a new camera at more than two years. This show that , we are on a market with a Mid term life cycle of the product. This show that afford a camera is an important act for consumer, so they have to think twice, before making the final decision.

36% of the panel is considering that buying a camera at ideal price between 200-300€, the second psychological price is more than 300€ ,this category account for 25% of the panel.
In this case, we can conclude that consumer prefer a high quality for the product.Only 15 persons decided to skip the answer for this question.
Brand recocgniction.
It is a key point for the consumers, because we are on an atomic market with a lot of offer concerning the product. As we saw, the trend of camera’s market is to take pictures with all kind of technologic products such as mobile phone, P.D.A, webcam….
Therefore I insist on a spontaneous brand recognitions of the consumer. we observe that Canon is the most wellknown brand of camera, this is due to the constant innovation for the product The second well-known brand for consumers is Sony for the same reason in term of innovation, and quality of product.
To conclude most of people in our panel already have a camera. This product is on an atomic market , but consumers buy this product for a mid term with average of two years.
Despite the fierce competition the price is still high starting from 100€ to >300€, but consumers will pay the price if only they are satisfy by quality of the product.
Also, for companies which are leader on the market this situation is due to a strong brand recognition in term of quality.
